Etude des systèmes culturaux des plantains (Musa AAB) dans une région Ubanguienne en République Démocratique du Congo

This study aims to investigate cropping systems based on plantain (Musa AAB) in the Mobayi-Mbongo Territory in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The sampling method was used. The following results were found: Compared to the agro system, 54% cultivate in the primary forest, and 43% in secondary forest, finally 3% of subjects practice cultivation in huts; 59% of muscle farmers plant before slaughter followed by incineration compared to 41% of those who plant and incinerate after slaughter. The association is the dominant cultivation system including banana and taro (19.9%); banana and yam (18.7%), banana and cassava (16.2%); peanut and banana (15.1%); sugar cane and banana (11.3%); vegetables and banana (10.2%); squash and banana (8.6%). As for the day of flaming, 52% flambé after 14 days of planting, 21% for those of 30 days, 20% of those of 21 days and finally 7% after 7 days of planting and this is explained by the way in which 69% for a good production compared to 31% for more rejections. The majority of our subjects have fields aged 11 to 12 months with a high rate of 97% and 3% for those over 12 months whose number of cultivars per field varied from 1 to 5 (55%); from 6 to 10 (24%) finally 21% of more than 10 cultivars. So, plantains are crops with diverse agrosystems.
