Evaluation des impacts sociaux des inondations dans le territoire de Mobayi- Mbongo (Nord-Ubangi) en République Démocratique du Congo.

The present study aims to conduct a survey on the assessment of the social impacts of floods in the territory of Mobayi-Mbongo (Nord-Ubangi), Democratic Republic of the Congo. A stratified probabilistic sampling method was used. The median age of the surveyed population is 38 years, with a confidence interval ranging from 35.5 to 43 years. Among the respondents, 46% are women and 54% are men. Regarding the level of education, 19% are illiterate, 28% have primary education, 47% have secondary education, and 6% have a university education. In terms of occupation, 11% are farmers, 2% local authorities, 18% teachers, 4% civil servants, 3% nurses, 14% housewives, 33% fishermen, and 4% unemployed. Concerning marital status, 99% of respondents are married and 1% are widowed. With respect to professional experience, 8% have more than five years of experience, while 92% have between one and five years of experience. Finally, 2% of respondents are involved in the construction of dikes or dams, whereas 98% temporarily move to higher ground during flood periods.
