Influence de nombre de graines par gousse sur l’expression des caractères agro-hérédi-taires de l’arachide (Arachis hypogea L. var. Red bod) à Gbadolite en République Démo-cratique du Congo
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to test the influence of the number of seeds per pod on the agro-hereditary characteristics of peanuts (Arachis hypogea L. var Red Bod) in Gbadolite in the Democratic Republic of Congo. To this end, a randomized com-plete block trial comprising four treatments was set up using the Red Bod variety. Character expression is evident in peanuts according to statistical analysis; hereditary character expression was 15.6%; 66.6%; 44.3%, and 11% for pods with 1 seed, 2 seeds, 3 seeds, and 4 seeds, respectively; the best expression was observed in pods with 2 and 3 seeds. The number of seeds per pod cannot influence yield, as the analysis showed that the treatments did not produce a significant difference.
